Palatal myoclonus
Definition
Palatal myoclonus is a fast spasm (contraction) of the muscles in the roof of the mouth.

Causes
Palatal myoclonus is usually due to damage (lesions) on brain nerve pathways. Conditions that may lead to palatal myoclonus include multiple sclerosis.
