Ask… Salvatore Lacagnina, D.O., Vice President of Health & Wellness
Question:
I am wondering if we will change our policy and allow employees who wish to become healthy at other venues to do so? I am starting the free "Healthy Beginnings" tonight (thank you for supporting this) but would love to join the 30-day CHIP. The cost would be $250 and I would like to use my card to pay a good chunk of that fee. I would never go to the Wellness Centers--both are too far for me to go--especially in season so I use my card to purchaase soup in the cafeteria.
Answer:
Thanks for your suggestion. It is wonderful that you are focused on wellness. Part of the focus of Healthy Bucks is to promote our programs focused on wellness. There are many choices on how you use your Healthy Bucks card. Lee Health Solutions has Lighten Up Lee, weight loss programs, diabetes and prediabetes courses, hypertension and hyperlipedima support, we have an asthma program in-house and our Wellness Centers offer fitness analysis as well as exercise tools, courses and services such as massage. In addition, as you know, we do have Fresh Harvest meals in the cafeterias.
Lee Memorial Health System employees are encouraged to take advantage of the facilities at Wa-Ke Hatchee Park Recreation Center, located just across Summerlin Road from HealthPark Medical Center, or Fitness on the Move, just north of Gulf Coast Medical Center on Metro Parkway.
