MEDICAL LIBRARY DATABASES

The Medical Library at Lee Memorial Health System provides remote access to its electronic resources to LMHS employees and to physicians on staff. Some of the databases require passwords. Contact any of our branches to obtain your IDs and passwords. (No passwords are needed when using library computers or accessing databases via IntraLee - except MD Consult and Advisory Board).
  • ACP's PIER & AHFS DI Essentials -  Physicians Information and Education Resource, the evidence-based medicine point-of-care tool from The American College of Physicians' (StatRef)
     
  • ProQuest - full-text medical and nursing journals - requires password

  • OVID - (full-text journals, books, evidence-based medicine, Medline, HealthStar) - requires password

  • MD Consult - (full-text medical books, journals, yearbooks, practice guidelines, drug information, medical news, patient handouts in English and Spanish, CME modules) - requires password
     
  • Natural Standard - (evidence-based databases of alternative therapies, herbs and supplements) - requires password
     
  • Up-To-Date - (updated quarterly database designed to provide comprehensive answers to clinical questions) - available in LMH and in HPMC library only.
     
  • Stat!Ref  - (full-text medical, nursing, coding, laboratory diagnosis interpretation books) - requires password
     
  • FirstSearch - (close to 60 databases including medical with some full-text) - available at LMHS libraries only
     
  • PubMed - (Indexes articles in medical, dental, nursing, veterinary journals) links to Full-Text available from "abstract" page of citations
     
  • MedlinePlus - in English and in over 40 other languages (enables access to consumer health information)
  • MedlinePlus Tutorial
     
  • MedlinePlus - Spanish (access to consumer health information in Spanish)
     
  • Drug Information Portal (National Library of Medicine and National Institutes of Health database of information about over 12,000 selected drugs, dietary supplements and herbs, drugs of abuse, investigational drugs, over-the-counter drugs, and clinical trials for clinicians and consumers)
     
  • National Cancer Institute - Cancer-related health information for professionals and for consumers in English and in Spanish
     
  • Free Medical Journals - (access to selected full-text medical journals, as supplied by publishers)
     
  • PubMed Central - (access to selected full-text medical journals - also linkable from PubMed, ProQuest and from OVID)(view the list of journals available in PubMed Central)
