While Lee Memorial Health System (LMHS) continues its journey to
be the best patient-centered healthcare system in the state of
Florida, nationally others are starting to take notice. On Tuesday,
November 4th, The Herman Group, of Greensboro, North Carolina, will
award its prestigious designation of Employer of Choice®, to LMHS
officials. This award recognizes an organization’s dedication to a
higher level of employee commitment that assures customer loyalty
and satisfaction. LMHS is one of four healthcare delivery systems in
the nation to receive this honor. (Visit

What does it mean to be named an Employer of Choice®? “Employers
of Choice, such as Lee Memorial Health System, who are able to
attract, optimize, and retain top talent, will enjoy a substantial
tactical advantage over their competitors,” says Roger Herman, chief
executive officer of Employer of Choice, Inc. “They will have the
knowledge, experience, resiliency, and power to respond quickly to
their patient’s needs, delivering what patients want more
efficiently and effectively than competitors plagued by employee
turnover. This strength will allow them to maintain high levels of
customer service and loyalty”.
Jim Nathan, LMHS President is thrilled with this news and said
“Lee Memorial Health System is recognized across the nation as a
leader in healthcare and it’s because of our employees – we do
attract the best of the best and it is their talent and compassion
that maintains our high level of service, and I thank them, each and
every one. I hope this community is proud of their healthcare
professionals and realizes the value these professionals give to
their community every day”.
Mr. Herman, who holds the trademark, Employer of Choice® was a
guest at the regular meeting of the Lee County Board of County
Commissioners, Tuesday, November 4, when Commissioners presented a
Resolution to Jim Nathan, President and to Linda Brown, Chairman of
the Board, in honor of the Employer of Choice award and the 100 Top
Hospitals award which designates each one of Lee Memorial’s
hospitals as one of the 100 Top Hospitals in the Nation. Mr. Herman
thanked the Commissioners for their support of LMHS and gave
accolades to Jim Nathan, his leadership team and staff, which
includes physicians, auxilians, volunteers, and employees.
Mr. Herman also met with the local Human Resources folks and
other professionals at a ceremony at HealthPark Medical Center to
talk about how to establish an employee-centered culture in their
