LMHS has been named second in the nation by AARP as one of the
"50 Best Employers for Workers Over 50". This is the fifth
consecutive year LMHS has been in the top 10.

LMHS Recognized Again by AARP
LMHS has been named fifth in the nation of AARP's "50 Best
Employers for Workers Over 50". The award was established by
AARP to honor employers showing a commitment to an aging
workforce. LMHS was named to the top ten in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

LMHS receives, for the third consecutive year, AARP Best
Employer for Workers over 50 award. LMHS has been selected
as one of the top 10 employers in the nation...not just health
systems but among all employers...

LMHS has been named 2nd in the nation of AARP's 50 Best
Employers for Workers Over 50. The award, now in its sixth
year, was established by AARP to honor employers showing a
commitment to an aging workforce. To be recognized a second time
by AARP is an amazing accomplishment. The AARP Magazine
will feature the Best Employer winners in its November-December
issue.

Lee Memorial Health System Receives Leadership Award From VHA,
Inc.
VHA, Inc., a national health care provider alliance based in
Irving, Texas, has recognized Lee Memorial Health System with
its 2005 Leadership Award for operational excellence. Lee
Memorial Health System is one of only 32 VHA member hospitals
nationwide to receive this prestigious honor. The 2005
Leadership Award for operational excellence is given to member
organizations who have distinguished themselves by going the
extra mile to pursue excellence. There are several
nationally-recognized programs that have set the standards for
quality including Employer of Choice®. Lee Memorial Health System
is an Employer of Choice award winner.
Workforce
Development Award given to LMHS Human Resources Department
Each year, the SW Florida Workforce Development Board
recognizes the accomplishments of individuals, events or
organizations that clearly demonstrate success in achieving a
quality workforce for Southwest Florida, with the Champion
Award. This year, the Human Resources Department at Lee Memorial
Health System is recognized with the Champion Award. The
recognition is for efforts made by LMHS to achieve workforce
development. The P C T (patient care technician) to C N A
(certified nursing assistant) Training Grant, and the C N A to L
P N (Licensed Practical Nurse) grants were honored. Both grants
helped staff meet their career development goals while providing
the community with quality healthcare professionals.

An "AARP Best Employer for Workers over 50" Winner
LMHS is 10th in the nation. This award is given to employers
who have exemplary practices and recognize the great value of
older employees as a key resource in their organizations. Our
over 50 workers provide knowledge and skills to the workplace
that sometimes only years of experience can bring.

Premier Healthcare Employer Award
Lee Memorial Health System
The Premier Employer Group is a human resources consulting
organization. Only ten organizations will receive this special
award. The criteria for selection is based on six categories:
Compensation; Benefits; Diversity; Learning and Development;
Work/Life Balance; and Culture and Values. This is the first
year of what is to be an annual recognition and an opportunity
to identify leading healthcare providers and share best "people"
practices across the healthcare industry.
