Lee Memorial Blood Center

Giving Blood: Your Donation Serves Our Community

At Lee Memorial Health System, we do not export donated blood - every drop goes to help save the lives of patients at your community-owned hospitals: Lee Memorial Hospital, HealthPark Medical Center, and Cape Coral Hospital.

The blood used for patient care has to be continuously replenished in order to maintain a constant blood supply. This means our blood centers need a total of 500 donors a week.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF DONATING
Every time you donate blood, you receive vital health checks at no cost. At our blood centers, you will be checked for the following:

  • Pulse rate
  • Blood pressure
  • Body temperature
  • Anemia (iron level)
  • Blood type
  • On request, we also will check your cholesterol levels.

HELPING MORE THAN ONE PERSON
Just a single pint of blood can help save the lives of several people. Your donation can be separated into its different components; the platelets may go to a child with leukemia, the plasma to a patient with a clotting problem and the red blood cells to an accident victim.

DONATE TODAY
Help ensure that adequate supplies of blood are available for you, your family and others in our community. Call (239) 334-5333 for the location of the Lee Memorial Blood Center nearest you.
