Adult Oncology
Inpatient Units at
Lee Memorial Hospital and
Gulf Coast Medical Center
These 24-bed inpatient oncology units are specifically designed for the care
and treatment of the cancer patient. The patient population consists
of medical and surgical oncology patients as well as those with
hematology/blood disorders. All of the resources necessary to
compassionately care for these patients and their families are
available through Lee Cancer Care. The oncology staff are certified in
chemotherapy through the Oncology Nursing Society and have received OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification.
Rehabilitation Hospital
Patients requiring assistance in regaining their ability to perform
activities of daily living often benefit from a short stay in the
Rehab Hospital.

Voice Clinic
Lee Cancer Care offers specialized care for individuals with voice
problems related to
head and neck cancer and for professional voice
users. Voice/speech rehabilitation services include evaluation of the
larynx with videostroboscopy and tracheoesophageal voice prosthesis
management for laryngectomees.
Videostroboscopy examines the vocal cords with a light and tiny camera
within a scope. Light flashes on and off (strobe) as the vocal cords
vibrate and move. This movement is videotaped and reviewed in slow
motion for a closer look at the vocal cords.

Patient Education
The Regional
Cancer Center offers free monthly workshops that are
designed to educate patients and their loved ones about specific
cancer diagnoses, treatments, symptom management, etc. As all
cancers are not created equal, these workshops are an
opportunity to gain new information and details that should be
helpful when discussing treatment options with one’s physician.
Each workshop will allow ample time for questions, answers and
discussion.Although
workshops are free, seating is limited and reservations are
required by calling 239-335-7595.
