Lee Memorial Health System Chosen As Site
For Human Clinical Trials For Kanzius Invention
The exciting announcement was
made at "A Night of Discovery: Sending Cancer a
Signal," an open public forum at South Fort Myers High
School held on March 4. Sanibel Island resident and inventor
John Kanzius announced that Lee Memorial Health System will
be one of a small number of host sites for the human
clinical trials of his continued cancer research.
The event offered the
community of Southwest Florida the opportunity to learn more
about Kanzius' use of high frequency radio waves and
nanoparticles in the destruction of cancer cells. Early
research trials on laboratory animals have been extremely
successful and have shown great promise for cancer
treatments, with no known side effects.
John Kanzius' invention
represents creative innovation that has the potential to
change the world. Sharon MacDonald, Chief Foundation
Officer and Vice President of Oncology stated, "We are
thrilled to be chosen as a clinical site. Lee Memorial will
stand in very elite company. We look forward to partnering
with the research team on the human trials and to sharing
this honor and experience with the Southwest Florida
community."
Details
of the human protocols are in development at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
Human
clinical trials are projected to begin in two to three
years.
