Desperate for Denton

The Club at Renaissance will host a very special evening with ABC Television's Desperate Housewives star James Denton on Saturday, March 13, 2010 from 6:00p.m.-9:00p.m. This truly unique event will benefit low-income and indigent women's cancer care at Lee Memorial Health System's Regional Cancer Center in Fort Myers. In addition to a chance to get up close and personal with one of today's hottest celebrities, the evening will include an exquisite buffet of gourmet food and amazing desserts, cocktails and entertainment. The evening's silent and live auctions will include sports and celebrity memorabilia, jewelry and trips and travel to some of the most desirable destinations in the country. Table Talk

Join local celebrities for an up close and personal lunch at the inaugural "Table Talk" event to benefit Jenn's Kids Fund at The Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida. Ten local celebrities including Phil Beuth, Karna Bodman, Porter Goss, Leoma Lovegrove, Wilson Bradshaw and Janet Evanovich have agreed to join ten guests for an intimate gourmet lunch at Hyatt Regency Coconut Point. 10th Annual Sanibel-Captiva Cares Island Celebration of the Arts

Sanibel-Captiva Cares formed in 2000 when a group of island mothers, impressed by the care a local child received during a cancer treatment, banded together to help The Children's Hospital. Footloose for ALS

Join us at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre on Colonial Boulevard for an evening including a pre-show reception, Tiaras and Ties Silent Auction, dinner, and the 1980s movie musical Footloose. Presented by Toni Mateson-Horn and Nancy Bailey, this event will benefit the Lee Memorial Health System's ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) Clinic Fund, in memory of former ABC-7 News Anchors Harry Horn & Geoff Bailey. Prior to losing their battle with the disease, they helped Lee County open its first ALS Clinic so patients and families could receive care close to home. Lee Memorial opened its first clinic in September of 2009. Proceeds will benefit those with ALS in our community. Click here to see the event flyer. 9th Annual Cat Country "Helping Kids with Cancer" Radiothon

This Radiothon benefits The Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida. It will be broadcast live from Miromar Outlet Mall, 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. All proceeds will benefit Barbara's Friends - The Children's Hospital Cancer Fund. 9th Annual Saks Fifth Avenue Key to the Cure

Saks will host a four-day event to benefit women's cancer (breast, ovarian, uterine, cervical) research, prevention and treatment. Speakers David Platt, Michael Miller, and Terry Igo inform the public on important tax and estate issues in a free Financial Planning Seminar. Lee Memorial Health System Foundation presents these free seminars as a community service for you to learn about changes in Federal Tax Law, Trust & Estate Planning and documents and tax saving strategies. Seminar takes place at the Sanibel Community Association from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 239-985-3550.

Purchase an Adorable Aflac Duck & Help Cancer Patients!

In the month of December log onto http://aflacholidayduck.com and purchase an Aflac duck decked out in festive holiday attire to help pediatric cancer patients at The Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida. A six-inch duck is $10 and a 10-inch duck is $15. All proceeds from ducks purchased by residents of our area will support programs and treatments for local pediatric cancer patients at The Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida.
