    The Employee Relief program supports staff members who have had an event in their life that has created a financial or medical hardship. The program supports all full-time and part-time staff with a network of programs to help employees out of crisis situations. Help is available in the form of financial assistance, health advocacy, or emotional support. 100% of funds help staff members in need.

    YOGA MATS FOR CANCER CENTER PATIENTS

    Yoga mats are needed for yoga classes that will be offered at the new 
Regional Cancer Center. Yoga is used to help reduce stress and ease patient recovery.

    The creative journaling art kit helps patients and their families focus on stress reduction and express their feelings through artwork. The kit includes oil pastels, brushes, watercolors, crayons, gel pens, collage materials, spiral journal and carrying case.

    PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION ASSISTANCE FOR UNINSURED PATIENTS

    Donations will help provide prescriptions for uninsured patients. Any donation amount will be accepted, but as a guideline, $75 would provide approximately 3 generic prescriptions to uninsured patients.

    YOGA CLASS MUSIC & BOOKS FOR CANCER CENTER PATIENTS

    The Regional Cancer Center staff will purchase books and music for Yoga
                       classes at the Center. A $76 donation will purchase Yoga as Medicine (book), Yoga for Wimps (DVD), Relax & Renew (DVD), and yoga music CDs. These items will help patients relax in a time of healing.

    MICROWAVE OVEN FOR PATIENT FAMILY MEMBERS

    This microwave will be used for patient families in The Rehabilitation Hospital who spend many hours in the hospital with their loved ones. Having a microwave in the unit will allow family members to bring food from home and spend less money out-of-pocket on food while visiting family members in the hospital.

    Using props in a yoga class allows people of all strengths and various stages of treatment to participate in gentle yoga. The use of props also lowers the risk of injury to ensure proper position of each yoga pose. LMHS would like to purchase props for 20 participants at $270 per participant.

    EXAM LIGHT FOR THE REHABILITATION HOSPITAL

    Having additional exam lighting in place will improve vision for IV access, phlebotomy, dressing changes and treatments in patients, and will allow the physician to provide the best possible bedside examinations.

    This computer program and handheld device gives up-to-date information about medications, including correct dosages and cost of medication. It also has the ability to check a patient's medications to make sure there are no drug interactions.

    This scale allows the Respiratory Care Asthma Educators to obtain the most accurate weight of patients and not depend on the patient's use of their scale readings at home.

    This cart holds art supplies for the LMHS Arts In Healthcare program such as craft supplies, crayons, pencils, drawing pads, markers, paints, brushes, magazines & puzzles. The cart can be taken to patient rooms by the Arts In Healthcare volunteers to allow patients to take a break from treatments and tests.

    Wii COMPUTER GAME FOR LONG-TERM PATIENTS

    With the purchase of a Wii game console, long-term adolescent and young adult patients will be able to take their minds off of daily hospital happenings and "act like a kid" by playing games and not focusing on treatment. Games improve the patient's concentration and help children avoid depression.

    CHESTER CHEST LIFELIKE MODEL

    Chester Chest is a lifelike model of a human torso with a detachable right arm to teach insertion, care, and removal of common long-term vascular access routes. The torso contains a real implanted port and the arm has CVC and PICC lines which are very valuable in teaching staff how to do these procedures.
