Sleep Suites
January 28, 2009

For over 20 years Alan Cunningham, LMHS Respiratory Care Director,  has been treating patients with sleep disorders so he knows first hand the importance of patient comfort.

And comfort is what the Plantation Outpatient Center is all about. Cunningham says, “We wanted to take the concept to provide patient care outside of the hospital setting and put it in a more easily accessible, comfortable environment for them.” The outpatient center allows for more flexibility with scheduling and after successful treatments, some are even able to go home early.

Cunningham adds, “I think that what you’ll see is that the process is different. The lab is essentially designed to be like an environment, safe, hotel-safe setting where you have your private room, you have your own shower, your own facilities and you’re able to control your temperature in that room.”

The intent was to create the comfort of home combined with state of the art technology. Of course the real goal was a good night’s sleep.
