Will and Olivia Galloway
March 2,  2009

Seven year old twins Will and Olivia Galloway enjoy hitting the greens with their dad. They have the energy and drive of any average 7 year old but that was not the case early in life.

The twins were born at just 32 weeks after their mother Tracey endured some health complications. Will weighed just over 4 pounds, his twin sister around 3 pounds. And that is why they were cared for at the Children’s Hospital.

"Its so scary, there’s needles and IV’s and alarms and there’s always somebody right there. You know, making you feel special. Making you feel like you are the only one there,” says their mother, Tracey.

This year, the twins were featured as MVP’s of this year’s celebrity golf classic. This is the 16th year of the event. Money raised goes towards an 8 bed expansion for the NICU. More than 800 babies from all over the state are admitted there. “Its just a treasure to have that here in our backyard. Otherwise, we would have to have been in Tampa and Miami and that would have been such a chore for the family,”says Tracey. “They’re perfectly healthy 7 year olds right now. They’ve had the normal, you know, they’re smaller than kids in their class, but developmentally, they are doing great.”

To date, more than $4.3 million has been raised for the hospital thanks to the generosity of local businesses and the Boston Red Sox.
