Diet Consultation
March 16, 2009 |
Financial worries, job fears, and an unstable economy have some people turning to
food to cope, both financially and emotionally.
In fact, a new study released this month finds the percentage of people snacking,
indulging in comfort food, and hitting drive-thrus for cheap meals has increased.
Some experts suggest a trip to the dietician may be more cost effective. Marjorie
Chutkan, a clinical dietician for Lee Memorial Health System offers personal consultations.
“I’ll check and see what kinds of foods you like, how often you eat them, then we
develop a meal pattern or plan which I recommend you follow,” says Chutkan.
The key is finding a strategy that will last, no matter what is going on in your life. “Then we work together because its not like ‘I want you to eat these foods’,
it has to be that you will eat these foods,” adds Chutkan.
