Plantation Road Draw Station
March 19, 2009

For some people, the idea of having blood drawn can make them faint. But that simple prick can uncover some complex health problems.

“It can alleviate a lot of other tests that are costly and time consuming and maybe painful,” says Connie Rose, a phlebotomist for Lee Memorial Health System. Life threatening conditions such as diabetes, prostate cancer, mineral deficiencies, even epilepsy can be diagnosed by a simple blood test.

The Draw Station on Plantation Road hopes to make getting that important blood test easier. “Our whole goal is convenience for the patients. There’s very little wait time here and patients can be assured of highly skilled and trained staff when they come to the draw station,” adds Sue Battig, manager of the draw station on Plantation Road.

When visiting, bring your lab order, a photo identification card, and your insurance card. The draw station on Plantation road is open from7 until 4, Monday thru Friday. Before going for your test, check with your doctor to see if fasting or any special preparation is required.
