Wellness Anniversary
May 26, 2009

It’s no secret. We’re all getting older. According to a new study, we’re living longer, too. So, keeping that body in good working order is essential.

“First step is the hardest. Walking through the front door and getting started,” says Kathy Gardner, supervisor at the Lee Center for Rehabilitation and Wellness. We all can see our bodies change over time, but internal changes such as metabolism, eyesight, and energy are more gradual.

Places like the Lee Center for Rehabilitation and Wellness are designed to help people from all walks of life find fitness counseling and support. “You have a lot of support. I mean, the floor is supervised the whole time you are here. People do evaluations on you. Check up on you and see what kind of compliance you are. Make phone calls. Do reassessments. And keep you motivated, “adds Gardner.

How your body changes all depends on your genetic makeup and your family’s medical history. Choosing to eat well and be physically active can help you live well into your golden years.

The Lee Center for Rehabilitation and Wellness celebrates its 25th anniversary tomorrow. Free tours and discount rates will be offered.
