Mommy Makeover
December 24, 2007

Giving birth can be a beautiful blessing. But it can also leave a new mommy feeling drained and even unattractive. But some brand new mothers recently received a little care giving of the cosmetic kind. Corliss Kazemba is the manager of Belk Department Store in Fort Myers. She says, “In order for the mothers to feel important after the big day of the birth we decided that she needed to look good.” With that in mind the ladies at Belk and Clinque cosmetics partnered with Cape Coral Hospital to launch a program called Beautiful Babies, Beautiful Moms. Kazemba says, “There’s make up samples and we’ll have make-up artists here to help the ladies feel much better after their new babies are born. “ It only took a little bit of lipstick and some smudges of eyeshadow to help create a joyful day for both the moms and the make-up artists. Ginger Fazeli works for Clinique Cosmetics. She says, “Today was very exciting because we had over six moms come in to get their make-up done. We got to see some beautiful babies too, which was a lot of fun.” Kazemba agrees. “Today was such a real inspiration just meeting the mothers; especially the mother who had just had a baby one hour before and she came in here and had a Clinique make-over. It was fabulous.” Courtney Craft was that impressive mother who headed to the make-up counter just about an hour after she left the delivery room with her brand new baby. “It was a great thing that they did today. A lot of new moms need it because after having a baby you just don’t feel so great. She did a beautiful job. I feel great.” About 150 babies are born at Cape Coral Hospital each month.
