The Healthy Brain Initiative is a national program being spearheaded locally by Lee Memorial Health System that encourages communities to build partnerships to improve cognitive function.
Memory Camp is part of the Healthy Brain Initiative.
Memory Camp is a scientifically research-based program developed by the director of the Center for Aging at the University of California at Los Angeles. The four-week program uses innovative strategies and exercises to help participants remember everyday things.
These classes are open to those of all ages who have not been diagnosed with memory loss or signs of memory loss.
The class costs $20 per person. If a location does not permit those conducting classes to charge, then other arrangements can be made. Call Sue Maxwell at 239-343-2768.

To teach the class, two coaches (preferably 2) will need a room one day a week for four consecutive weeks. The room will need to be suitable as a classroom, with tables and chairs and access to a restroom.
The coach will have all of the necessary supplies to teach the class.
It is up to the host/coach if they prefer to offer refreshments of any kind.
All students will be required to sign a Release of Liability and Photo Release form.
