Concerned About Your Memory?
Just as hearing or vision screenings identify possible changes, so do the screenings for memory. Lee Memory Care offers Free Memory Screenings at both Lee Memorial Hospital and Cape Coral Hospital. This is a 20-minute test which evaluates a person’s orientation, concentration and memory.
A neurological diagnosis cannot be determined based on the results of this screening; it is simply a tool which can demonstrate that further testing may or may not be indicated. The results are reviewed by one of the neuropsychologists at Lee Memory Care, who will send you a confidential letter which provides any recommendations regarding the results. However, there is never any obligation on the part of the participant to act on these suggestions, and any follow-up testing would be strictly voluntary.
Be sure to take care of your memory, because “memories are too precious to lose.” The earlier you diagnose a problem, the earlier you can take control. Doing nothing can be the worst thing to do!
