Sue Maxwell, Lee Memorial Health System, System Director of Gerontology, holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from Barry University in Miami, Florida. She has been involved in the field of aging for over 23 years.
As the Director, she provides direct service to the 50+ population from a clinical perspective as well as wellness and prevention. She has been a consultant with other health care systems in Florida and other parts of the United States to develop successful programs about aging.
In her position of Director of Gerontology, Sue is responsible for the administrative and the hands-on care of patients in the Lee Memory Care.
She was elected as a Florida delegate to attend the White House Conference under President George W. Bush.
She serves on the Geriatric Education Committee at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Michael Franz Raab, M.D., Geriatrician for Lee Memory Care. Dr. Raab earned his medical degree at S.U.N.Y. Buffalo School of Medicine in Buffalo, New York. He completed his residency in family medicine at United Health and Hospital in Kingston, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Raab has served in numerous principal positions throughout his years of service. In practice since 1980, Dr. Rabb is board certified in family medicine with a certificate of added qualification in geriatrics and certified by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners.
Dr. Raab's areas of expertise are memory disorders and care for frail elderly.
Scott Anstadt, Ph.D, LCSW, IABMCP, is currently an Assistant Professor at Florida Gulf Coast University (Fort Myers, Florida) in the Division of Social Work where he has taught courses in advanced clinical practice, gerontology, mental health, chemical dependency, and research and incorporates mindfulness into the classroom setting. Research interests and ongoing projects include the development of community based programs which improve the quality of life and resources for the elderly.
Dr. Anstadt received his MSW from the University of Illinois-Chicago and Ph.D in Psychology from California Coast University. He is also an ordained Interfaith Minister from the New Seminary of Interfaith Studies in New York. He practices and teaches a daily discipline of mindfulness meditation to enhance cognitive abilities and applies this to concepts of total positive aging.Margaret Lynn Duggar, of Margaret Lynn Duggar & Associates. Throughout her professional career, Margaret Lynn Duggar has continued to seek new and better ways to organize community and state resources, serve the needs of our aging population, and create public and private partnerships that lead to a more productive society.
Over more than 30 years, Margaret Lynn has held numerous top leadership positions in local and state aging organizations. She has received a number of advisory appointments by Florida Governors, and won distinctive awards from statewide and local organizations. Margaret Lynn's public service positions have included: Executive Director of Elder Care Services in Tallahassee, founding Executive Director for the Area Agency on Aging for North Florida; and state Director for the Aging and Adult Services Office under Governors Graham and Martinez.
In 1989, recognizing a need to assist private businesses and public agencies better serve the growing aging population, Margaret Lynn established an independent consulting firm which specializes in developing products, services and marketing programs for older adults. Her firm, Margaret Lynn Duggar & Associates, also provides strategic planning and organizational leadership consulting.
Their client list has grown to include: Lee Memorial Health System, the Florida Council on Aging, the American Society on Aging, Florida Bankers Association, Florida Medical Association, real estate developers, retirement communities, BellSouth, health care companies, Walt Disney World, banks, the United Way of Northeast Florida, The Florida Department of Elder Affairs and private individuals. The firm has provided board and other leadership training for numerous foundations, not-for-profit and governmental Boards of Directors. The firm developed the geriatric curriculum for the medical school at Florida State University and has since been under contract with FSU to design their geriatric program and to conduct overall planning for the College of Medicine.
Margaret Lynn Dugger received undergraduate and graduate degrees from FSU. She now travels statewide, nationally and even internationally (she has worked in Japan, Antigua and London) to consult on issues of aging and leadership.
She served as Chair of the Board of Directors of the United Way of the Big Bend and Leadership Tallahassee and on the Boards of Barnett and Nations Banks, the American Society on Aging, the Advent Christian Village, the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce and numerous other local, state and national organizations. Margaret Lynn lives in Tallahassee with her husband, Tom Dugger.
