Doug actively participates with other LMHS leaders, employees and the medical staff at Southwest Florida Regional Medical Center and Gulf Coast
Hospital to design the best possible patient care for the patients
and families we serve in Southwest Florida.
Besides overseeing the operations of both Southwest Florida Regional Medical Center and Gulf Coast Hospital, Doug is also the Ancillary Service Officer, which oversees the operations of the Laboratory, Radiology and Respiratory Services throughout the system.
Professional Experience
Doug was the HCA Market Chief Operating Officer for these two facilities from July 2005 through the sale. Prior to that, Doug was the COO for HCA’s Doctor’s Hospital in Sarasota and COO for HMA’s Upstate Carolina Medical Center and East Georgia Regional Medical Center from 2001-2005.
Education
After serving two years in the United States Army Infantry Unit, Doug graduated from Jefferson State Community College in 1989 then started his health care career as a Radiology technologist.
In 1994, Doug earned his Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health Administration from the University of Alabama and his Master’s at the University of Memphis in 1999.
Memberships/Community Involvement
Doug is a Fellow with the American College of HealthCare Executives and a member of the American Hospital Radiology Administrators.
