Wiest
Chief Financial and Institutional Services Officer
Mr. Wiest is
responsible for determining and identifying the optimal level of
financial resources available to LMHS. He identifies weaknesses
and inadequacies with financial resources through budgeting and
projecting operating and capital results, and participating in
finding and implementing solutions to shortfalls.
Leadership Responsibilities
Mr. Wiest coordinates the financial, business
operations, materials management, information technology, sales
and marketing, plant operations, facilities, productivity and
food services functions of LMHS. He guides the development of
long and short-term objectives and strategic plans for these
functions and collaborates with other LMHS employees to execute
the strategies and plans designed to achieve these objectives.
He is
responsible for the financial evaluation and related
recommendations for business acquisitions and strategic
alliances.
Professional Experience
Previously, Mr. Wiest has served as Vice President of
Finance for NCH Healthcare System; Assistant Executive Director
of Finance for Humana Hospital-Biscayne in Miami, Florida; and
Vice President of Finance for Lower Florida Healthcare System,
Inc., in Key West.
Prior to
joining LMHS, he was a managing consultant for Pricewaterhouse
Coopers in the Florida Financial Analysis business line of the
Health Care Regulatory Group.
Education
Mr. Wiest holds a Master's degree in Business
Administration from Florida Gulf Coast University and a
Bachelor's of Science degree in Accounting & Business from
Frostburg State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
Memberships/Community Involvement
Mr. Wiest is a member of the Healthcare Financial
Management Association and the American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants. He is the Chair of the Horizon Council
Executive Committee and past Board Chairman for the Chamber of
Southwest Florida.
