Chief Operating Officer
Dr. Antonucci joined Lee Memorial Health System in September 2007 as Chief Administrative Officer for Cape Coral Hospital. In summer 2009, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Hospital Services and assumed responsibility for Physician Services in early 2010. In October 2011, Dr. Antonucci was named Chief Operating Officer for the health system
Leadership Responsibilities
Dr. Antonucci leads the patient care team at all Lee Memorial Health System facilities. His responsibilities include the operation of all six hospitals within the system; outpatient facilities; post-acute services; clinical departments such as Pharmacy, Respiratory Therapy, Laboratory Services, and Radiology/Imaging Services; and physician practices owned by Lee Memorial Health System. In addition, his duties include developing a physician organization that is a partnership between the system and local physicians which implements a shared vision for health care in the community.
Dr. Antonucci chairs the Clinical Operations Group, which is the leadership team responsible for coordinating activities and processes that affect the safe provision of care throughout the continuum. This includes all care processes from emergency evaluation, admission, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring and preparation for transition to other care environments, as well as outpatient and post-acute services.
Professional Experience
Dr. Antonucci has practiced
in Lee County since 1983. During that time, he helped build a
large multi-specialty group practice and served as managing
partner for Physicians Primary Care. Larry served as president
of the Medical Staff at Lee Memorial Hospital from 1989-1990 and
chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 1986-1987. He also
served as a member of the Columbia Regional Medical Center Board
of Trustees from 1996-1998.
Education
Dr. Antonucci attended medical school at the University of
Miami and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology
at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine. He also earned
a master's degree in business administration from the University
of South Florida.
Memberships/Community Involvement
Dr. Antonucci is a Diplomat with the American College of
Physician Executives and the American Board of Obstetrics and
Gynecology as well as a Fellow with the American College of
Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a member of the American
Fertility Society, Lee County Medical Society and Florida
Medical Society. He was a founding member of the Fort Myers
Imaginarium and a founding board member of Lee Independent
Practice Association.
Along with his numerous other professional memberships, Larry
has been a coach for Fort Myers Little League and Greater Fort
Myers Soccer Club.
