Franklin
Grant wanted his daughter, Tracie Parsons, and his grandson to live
a little closer to Southwest Florida, so he suggested that Tracie
apply for a job at Lee Memorial Health System, which owns five acute
care hospitals and two specialty hospitals in Lee County. Now,
Tracie, RN, works in the Surgical Oncology unit at Lee Memorial
Hospital, and Franklin is $500 richer. Franklin was able to take
advantage of LMHS' Community Referral Program. The program
grants $500 to any community member who refers a registered nurse,
pharmacist, physical therapist, occupational therapist or nurse
practitioner to LMHS. The prospective employee must also remain at
LMHS for three months after the hire date, have lived at least 100
miles from Lee Memorial Hospital at the time of hire and not worked
for LMHS for at least 12 months prior to the referral. "I think
it's a fantastic program for the community," says Franklin.
"Tracie had always liked the climate down here, and now I can go to
my grandson's ballgames and enjoy his company." LMHS started
the Community Referral program as a way to connect with the
community, says Lauren Huff, Candidate Sourcing Specialist for LMHS.
"We know the community out there thinks highly of Lee Memorial
Health System. This is a way to honor that and help build a
partnership with the community," says Lauren. For more
