Lee Memorial Health System
Mobile App Provides Convenient, 24/7 Access to Your Health Record
“MyChart helps patients take more ownership of their health because they can stay on top of tests, prescriptions and medical appointments for themselves and their family members,“ explains Leah Lynch, M.D.
Since Lee Memorial Health System implemented Epic electronic health records (EHR) in all four hospitals and most physician offices, each patient has one record that follows him or her from appointment to appointment. Then, with the addition of MyChart, patients were able to access parts of their EHR from their home computer. Now, a MyChart mobile app for Android and Apple devices provides convenient, 24/7 access to important and valuable health information.
“MyChart helps patients take more ownership of their health because they can stay on top of tests, prescriptions and medical appointments for themselves and their family members,” explains Leah Lynch, M.D., internal medicine physician and Lee Physician Group medical director of Informatics. “It also helps keep everyone—patient, caregiver, physician and specialists—on the same page because we are dealing with one single record.”
“Initially, MyChart only provided information regarding physician office visits, but we recently linked to hospital inpatient information, too,” Dr. Lynch says.
