Memorial Health System (LMHS) offers outpatient laboratory services
in six convenient locations throughout the community. Patients
who have used the LMHS lab often say they would recommend the lab to
a friend or family member.
Laboratory services are needed to diagnose or screen for numerous
medical conditions. Common tests include complete blood
counts, cholesterol screens, glucose levels and coagulation studies.
LMHS' highly skilled phlebotomists acquire samples from infants
through older adults with expertise, care and sensitivity. "We

Battig, Outpatient Lab Manager.
Once samples are obtained, the lab sends them to one of LMHS' main
laboratories for testing. Then the results are given directly
to the ordering physician within 24 to 48 hours.
 "Our
number one goal is to make it easy and convenient for our patients,"
says Sue. "That's why we recently opened our sixth location at
Page Field Medical Village."
In addition, the labs have streamlined their processes and reduced
patient wait times to less than 20 minutes on average.
"We know our patients want to get in and get out," says Sue.
"So we're always looking at ways to make things run more
efficiently."
Sue says there are a few simple things patients can do to help speed
up their visit, "It is essential patients remember to bring their
written doctor's order, insurance information and photo ID."
Additionally, patients can expedite their visit by asking their
physician if fasting or any special preparation is required for
their test. "It's very important to know this in advance,
because not fasting for a test that requires it will produce
inaccurate results," Sue explained.
 "It's
also a good idea to check with your physician to be certain your
prescription medications won't interfere with the test"
LMHS' outpatient labs accept most major insurance plans, Medicare
and Medicaid.
