Description
Target Audience: Any and all Lee Memorial Health System
allied healthcare professionals
Purpose: The Stroke and Neurovascular Care Journal Club
strives to introduce pertinent clinical and research data as it
applies to the care of patients within the broad spectrum of
neurovascular diseases and disorders and especially those
patients being evaluated for advanced care of their ischemic
stroke syndromes
Educational Objectives:
To encourage our understanding of neurovascular diseases and
disorders especially as that understanding helps us advance
stroke and neurovascular care for our patients
To develop an awareness of evidence-based studies in the field
of stroke and neurovascular care
To develop an awareness of how clinical research paradigms as
well as cutting-edge technologies are being applied in the field
of stroke and neurovascular care
To share information with other healthcare providers
To develop and enhance critical thinking skills
Desired Outcomes: The desired outcome is to improve our
understanding of evidence-based practice and, then, how we might
be expected to advance stroke and neurovascular care to a more
comprehensive level-of-care
Format: Meetings, often with a case-conference format
Frequency of meetings: As scheduled and at least twice
per month
Place: Various locations and, at least initially, at HPMC
Reading assignments: Pertinent references and
cross-references will be posted prior to each meeting
Links to recommended articles will be posted on the Medical
Library WEB pages
PowerPoint slide sets will be posted as well
