Continuing Education Online

Physicians Education

• CE Headquarters - a pilot program of point-of-care continuing medical education using online resources of the Medical Library. Limited membership. Contact the librarian to register.

• Network for Continuing Medical Education (NCME). Besides DVD and video programs available in the libraries, NCME video programs are accessible online free of charge to physicians on staff. Post-tests are available online and in the libraries and must be mailed or faxed to NCME. Initial registration online is required. Please call the library for the "hospital location number", which is needed to get registered.
  
  Mandatory education programs - "Prevention of medical errors", "Domestic violence across the generations", and "HIV Update", DVDs are available in each library.

• Monthly CME presentations - provided by LMHS.

• MD Consult (requires password) - online CME modules.

• MedScape (requires initial registration) - free CME programs online.

• Physicians' Travel & Meeting Guide - calendar of medical meetings and conferences world-wide.

• Audiodigest (requires initial registration) - provides some free CME programs in MP3cast and podcast formats.

Nursing Education

• MedScape Nurses (requires initial registration) - free CEUs for nurses online.

• Trauma Education CEUs - free CEUs for trauma-related continuing education course online.

• NursingSpectrum - more than 400 free CE courses only for RNs & LVNs who work in Patient Care Services Division of LMHS. Courses are available online, as podcasts, and as magazine single-unit courses through Nursing Spectrum and NurseWeek magazines. (Requires passwords provided by supervisors)

• Nursing Research Journal Clubs - offer free CEUs to participants.
