The Lee County Medical Society honored four physicians for their outstanding contributions to medicine at the First Annual Medical Service Awards in 2011 at the new gallery of the Museum of Medical History.

Robert Pascotto, M.D. was presented with the Award for Citizenship and Community Service for outstanding leadership and public service above and beyond the call of duty as a practicing physician.

Mark Gorovoy, M.D. was presented with the Scientific Achievement Award in recognition of outstanding work in the area of scientific medical research.

William Liu, M.D. was presented with the Leadership in Medical Ethics and Professionalism Award for his continuing dedication to the principles of medical ethics and the highest standards of medical practice.

Roger Scott, M.D. was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his substantial contributions to the goals and ideals of the medical profession.
