February Tips of the Month: Toddlers
A child who weighs over 20
pounds and is older than 1 year of age may face forward.
However, it is safest for a child to ride rear facing until
he/she reaches the highest weight limit of the seat.
Weight: Over 1 year and
over 20-40 lbs.
Type of seat:
Convertible/Forward facing.
Seat position: Forward
facing.
Always make sure: Harness
straps should be at or above shoulders. Most seats require top
slot for forward facing. Check the vehicles owner's manual and
safety seat instruction book for guidance.
