November Tips of the Month: Great American Smoke Out Day - November 18, 2010

Approximately 434,000 Americans die from cigarette smoking in the U.S. each year. Lung disease is America's number three killer, responsible for one in five deaths annually.

Lung disease is not only a killer, most lung disease is chronic. Over 35 million Americans are living with chronic lung disease.

Smoking cost the United States over $150 billion a year in health care costs.

November 17th, 2011 is the Great American Smoke Out day sponsored by the American Cancer Society. The American Cancer Society sponsors this day each November to help smokers quit cigarettes for at least one day, in hopes that they will quit forever.
