October Tips of the Month: Tips for
Teens About Inhalants
Inhalants refer to substances that are
sniffed or huffed to give the user an immediate head rush and
high. They include a diverse group of chemicals that are found
in consumer products such as aerosols and cleaning solvents.
According to the 2010 Florida Youth Substance Abuse survey among middle school
students, 4.8% reported the use of inhalants in the past 30 days.
Inhalant use can cause a number of
physical and emotional problems and even one-time use can result
in death.
