The Lee Memorial Health System Foundation today announced that it received $13,500 in cash donations from a recent WAVV 101.1 FM six-hour fundraising broadcast held in May. The special broadcast was designed to raise funds for, and awareness of, children in our community who are battling cancer.

The special broadcast was in honor of Jillian Lamparyk, daughter of WAVV's Kenny Lamparyk, who lost her battle with Lymphoblastic Leukemia one month before her sixth birthday. Her memory is honored through ongoing fundraising efforts entitled, "Jillian's Angels".

On-air personality, Kenny Lamparyk, ("Kenny Lamb" to his listeners) hosted the day's activities and remarked of the day, "We were deeply touched to honor Jillian's memory in such a special way through our partnership with The Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida. We hope we can bring some of Jillian's spirit and hope to the children who are suffering."
