AUXILIARY
CONTINUES ITS TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE
1950 - 2009 Millions of volunteer hours and $4,650,000 later, the Lee
Memorial Auxiliary is in its 55th year of service to our
patients, our Health System and our community.
It has grown from -
- a membership of 30 women in 1950 to 1,200 women and
men today;
- three Auxiliary services in one hospital to almost 120 in
six facilities, numerous physician offices and many off-site
locations; and
- a beginning donation of $1,232 to Lee Memorial Hospital,
Jones Walker Hospital and the "Nurses' Residence" to
a donation of over $4.8 million to the Lee Memorial Health
System since 1950.
The success of the Lee Memorial Auxiliary has been dependent on
volunteer workers and volunteer leadership. Click on
