HISTORY OF THE
LEE MEMORIAL AUXILIARY

Lee Memorial Hospital Auxiliary was founded on November 21, 1950, when Mrs. Howard O. Daubman and Mrs. Guy R. Miller met with wives of hospital board directors, staff doctors and dentists at the Daubman's home to discuss the formation of the Lee Memorial Auxiliary. On that evening, the ladies planned an organizational meeting for December 18th at the Sunshine Kitchen and scheduled their first election of officers for January 9, 1951.

Three Auxiliary services were initiated in 1951. They were a Hospitality Service, Floor Service, and Sewing Service. From those three services Lee Memorial Auxiliary has grown to staff over 60 service areas at Lee Memorial Hospital and 55 service areas at HealthPark Medical Center. Currently, there are 1,050 Auxiliary members.
