Lee Wound Care is a part of
the community-owned Lee Memorial Health System, the leading
provider of health care in Southwest Florida. Backed by the
comprehensive services of Lee Memorial Health System, Lee Wound
Care is committed to ensuring that patients receive the highest
quality, most cost-effective, and clinically appropriate care.
The department has five
physicians board Certified in Emergency Medicine with special
education in wound management and hyperbaric oxygen medicine. A
physician is present in the department each day of operation and
on call after hours and days closed.
There are seven registered
nurses with specialized education in wound care and hyperbarics.
Lee Wound Care also offers
hyperbaric oxygen therapy and wound care management for these

Chronic
refractory osteomyelitis (DX 730.10-730.19) requires
radiological evidence and bone culture.
Osteoradionecrosis (DX 526.89).
Soft
tissue radionecrosis (DX 990).
Preparation and preservation of compromised skin grafts (DX
996.52) requires documentation of previous graft failure or
other evidence of likely failure of current graft.
Progressive necrotizing infections (necrotizing fasciitis)
DX 728.86, 686.01, 686.09) include pyodermas, Meleney's
ulcer. Requires lab confirmation of infection, but patient
can have 2-3 dives prior to lab results being received if
physician orders.
Acute
peripheral arterial insufficiency (DX 444.21, 444.22)
requires evidence of condition including noninvasive or
invasive arterial testing.
Acute
carbon monoxide intoxication (DX 986).
Decompression illness (DX 993.3).
Gas
embolism (DX 958.0).
Gas
gangrene (DX 040.0) Requires lab confirmation of infection,
but patient can have 2-3 dives prior to lab results being
received if physician orders.
Cyanide
poisoning (DX 987.7 or 989.0).
Crush
injuries and suture (reattachment) of severed limbs (DX 927
and 928 series, 929 series, 996 series).
